The Arkansas, Louisiana & Mississippi Railroad (ALM) is a busy shortline carrier operating between Crossett, AR and Monroe, LA.

Most movements operate out of Bastrop, Louisiana. The Monroe Turn begins here each morning, and works south to the KCS yard for interchange. Blocks are built by the Bastrop switcher during the day, which is mostly traffic from the International Paper mill in town, as well as the sprawling Georgia-Pacific mill in Crossett. Odd as it may seem, intermodal containers are a regularity on the Monroe Turn.

After the Monroe Turn heads back north, he makes a setoff & pickup in Bastrop and continue north. The pickup is generally IP traffic going to the UP at Fordyce, AR (via sister road Fordyce & Princeton). They will yard their entire train in the small yard on the northeast side of Crossett. Often, the timing will be right and they will swap cars with the FP's Crossett Turn.

Railserve, Inc. is the contract switcher for both the G-P mill at Crossett, and the IP mill at Bastrop. The much larger G-P mill hosts about three (3) Railserve GP9's, which can routinely be seen switching cars at many public locations throughout Crossett, including across US 82 into the ALM yard to grab cars for the mill. While I'm not 100% certain, this should include switching cars at the extrusion plant off West 3rd Street as well. RSSX works the Crossett mill around the clock, with 3 crews during the weekdays and 2 crews on weekends. At Bastrop, two Railserve SW1200's (x-ADN) are stationed for switching cars within the mill. Both units face south, but I'm unsure when exactly they work, or how shootable they are from public property.
